Choosing a Watch Size That Fits Your Wrist — Measure It Yourself in 2 Minutes

However nice a watch is, it won't look good if it doesn't fit your wrist. This article shows you how to measure your wrist and choose a case size — easy to do at home.
1. Measure your wrist first
Wrap a tape measure, or a piece of string or paper, around your wrist where you'll wear the watch, then measure the length in centimetres. Note it down as your reference.
2. Match it to a case size
- Small wrist (~14–16 cm) → a case of about 34–40 mm fits well
- Medium wrist (~16–18 cm) → about 40–44 mm
- Large wrist (18 cm+) → 44 mm and up looks great
3. Thickness matters too
A very thick watch is hard to slide under a shirt cuff. If you'll mainly wear it to work, a slimmer case is more practical; for outdoor use, thickness is fine.
Tip: if you like a big look but have a small wrist, a dark dial and a thin bezel help it look less overwhelming.
4. Compare before you decide
Check the size specs on each product page before ordering — every watch at Shock Shop lists them. If you're unsure, ask us on LINE.
FAQ
Is 44 mm too big for a man with a small wrist?
It may look slightly oversized. Try 40–42 mm for a better-proportioned fit.
Can women wear a large dial?
Yes, it's a matter of style — many women like the oversized look. Just choose a strap that adjusts to fit your wrist.
